2011 March Favorites

I did not purchase many new products in the month of March. Every day I found myself using the same routine products. Below I have listed a few newly discovered items I found myself using constantly throughout the month.
Blistex Medicated Lip Ointment
I suffer from extremely chapped lips and I have yet to find a chapstick that can correct the problem.  Recently I started using Blistex Medicated Lip Ointment as an overnight lip treatment.  I saw immediate results.  I apply a generous amount before bed and in the morning I can see a difference.  This can be purchased almost anywhere for around $3-4.
Portable DVD Player
I commute to New York City for work and this DVD player makes the trip so much more enjoyable.  My boyfriend bought it for me for Valentine's Day.  Currently I am watching Sex and the City (I am on season 2 right now).
Chanel Loose Powder
The full name of this product is "Poudre Universelle Libre Natural Finish Loose Powder".  I use the shade Translucent 2.  I have had this item for about a year, but only recently I have started to use it daily.  Every morning I begin with Chanel Pro Lumiere foundation and after I apply the loose powder with a brush from ELF.  This product definitely absorbs oil and my face does not get shiny by the end of the day.  I use this product to absorb moisture not to set my makeup.
Dior Show Mascara
Angela gave me this for Christmas.  At first when I started to use this mascara it was not as excellent as I remembered.  However within the past few weeks I have fallen back in love with it.  I highly recommend this product with two coats my lashes look thicker and full of volume.  Years later this is still my favorite premium mascara!

Shoe Pig

For Valentine's Day my parents gave me an adorable piggy bank.  My mom purchased it at Target.  As you can see from the pictures below it is a ceramic pink pig with a black bow and the words Shoe Fund written on both sides.  I deposit any spare change or small bills into Shoe Pig.  Someday I would like to purchase the shoes below!

My dream pair of shoes would have to be a pair of classic black leather Christian Louboutin pumps.  I would like a pair similar to picture shown below.  Perfect for work!

Rolando Leather
(neimanmarcus.com)

I could buy these now, but I would rather wait and save up.  I think saving up for something expensive makes it more memorable and worth while.  Hopefully soon Shoe Pig will have enough to make this purchase!

Shoe Pig can purchased here --> Shoe Fund Piggy Bank.  I thought this was cute gift idea to share especially for a shoe lover!

Sam Edelman Shoes

Sam Edelman has recently become one my favorite shoe designers.  He specializes in women's shoes.  I turn to the internet when shopping for pictures, reviews, and opinions of products.  I would like to share my recent shoe purchases and spark some interest in a fun brand.

The Gigi-

I purchased these sandals from bloomingdales.com for $50 (price after a coupon).  The color I bought was saddle with the patent black.  This sandal is simple and a summer must have.  It comes in many different colors and textures.  Having the black and brown color combo I can mix and match with any outfit this summer.  I highly recommend this sandal.

The Ionia

For the longest time I was looking for a pair of classic, black leather slingbacks with no heel to wear to work.  A slingback can give a summer feel to office shoes because the back is open.  Keeping the toes covered a slingback is still a conservative office appropriate shoe.  The Ionia from Sam Edelman was the ideal shoe, it had everything I was looking for.  However the $115 price tag was a little steep.  I tend to do a lot of shopping online especially when a site offers free shipping.  A few weeks ago shoes.com was running a promotion and I was able to get the shoes for $75 which I consider a great deal.  The price is expensive, but it was well worth it.  I know I will get use out of these shoes for years to come.

The Grenna

The final Sam Edelman purchase was the Grenna in nude.  Retailing for $100 I was able to get it at a discount from shoes.com for around the same price as the Ionia.  I first saw these shoes in Nordstrom and fell in love with them, but did not bother to try on.  A few weeks later I purchased these online.  A side note about shoes.com: quick shipping and the items arrived in great condition.  Also I get emails about different offers and promotions all the time (25% off, $50 off, etc).

For those of you who do not shop online Sam Edelman can be purchased at Bloomingdale's, Nordstrom, and other stores.  Visit samedelman.com for more retail locations and to view other great styles from the Spring 2011 line.

Hi,

This is my first post.  My sister Angela (honeyflower3) has a blog and I decided to make one as well.  I think blogging will be relaxing and enjoyable.  I am excited to finally create my own!  My posts will include topics such as makeup, fashion, NYC, food, shopping, travel, music and anything else that appeals to me.
